Deepfakes, those hyper-realistic videos or audio created with artificial intelligence, are becoming a serious threat to companies. Imagine receiving an order from your boss, but it's actually a fake! According to a study published in JCP, many companies are vulnerable because they use generic security systems, not designed for these attacks. Experts interviewed cybersecurity professionals and found that most organizations are not ready. To combat this threat, the PREDICT framework was created, a model that combines clear policies, employee training, and advanced detection tools. In short, to defend against deepfakes, a comprehensive and continuous approach is needed. The good news? With the right strategies, you can stay safe!

The PREDICT framework is a cyclical and iterative theoretical model composed of five fundamental pillars: Policy, Readiness, Education, Detection, and Continuous Improvement and Training (PREDICT). The first step is to establish clear and definitive policies that guide the organization in managing risks related to deepfakes. This includes defining protocols for identifying and responding to attacks. The second pillar, Readiness, focuses on organizational preparedness, ensuring that all necessary resources are available and that teams are ready to respond quickly to any threat. Education is the third pillar and concerns targeted training for employees. Social engineering attacks often exploit a lack of awareness, so it is crucial that employees are able to recognize the signs of a deepfake. The fourth pillar, Detection, involves the use of advanced artificial intelligence tools to detect deepfakes in real-time. These tools can analyze videos and audio to identify anomalies that may indicate suspicious activity. Finally, Continuous Improvement and Training is the pillar that ensures the organization continues to improve and adapt to new threats. This includes regular simulations of attacks and continuous updates to security protocols.
