Imagine having to manage a sea of data from different sources in the oil and gas sector. It's a bit like trying to organize a room full of puzzles from different games! This is the challenge faced by surface engineering experts. Currently, integrating heterogeneous data, reviewing them efficiently, and establishing unified standards is a huge task. But there's a solution! A new study has developed multi-dimensional control rules for data quality, covering the entire data lifecycle. They created review criteria in five dimensions: normative, integrity, consistency, accuracy, and timeliness. To make everything more scientific, they combined the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Entropy Weight Method (EWM). This hybrid model allows for quantitative calculation of quality indicators. Tested in a project by the Southwest Oil and Gas Field, the system proved effective in diagnosing and tracking data quality, revealing the differences between different data types. This study is a step forward towards intelligent operation and maintenance in the oil and gas sector.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a multi-criteria decision-making method that helps evaluate and prioritize options based on multiple criteria. In this study, AHP was used to determine the relative importance of each data quality criterion. The Entropy Weight Method (EWM), on the other hand, is an objective approach that calculates the weights of the criteria based on the variability of the data. By combining these two methods, the authors created an evaluation model that takes into account both expert opinions and the intrinsic characteristics of the data. This hybrid approach ensures a more accurate and scientific assessment of data quality. The system's verification in a real project demonstrated its effectiveness in revealing quality differences between structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, providing fundamental methodological support for integrated data governance in the oil and gas sector.
